 s pleased to present Conversations at BSC\, a series of lectures for the p
 ublic. Each 'conversation' begins with a presentation by Clay Jenkinson\, 
 and includes discussion between Jenkinson and BSC President Larry C. Skoge
 n. Questions from the audience complete the conversation.\nThe Dec. 6 topi
 c is 'Abraham Lincoln's 'Footprint' In North Dakota.' Lincoln never set a 
 foot in North Dakota\, but his footprint is enormous: Homestead Act\, Morr
 ill Land-Grant Colleges Act\, and the railroads.\nThis is BSC's Distinguis
 hed Scholar of the Humanities Lecture Series held Sundays at 3 p.m. in the
  Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.  The purpose of the lectures is to enrich the c
 ommunity?s understanding of our common humanity. The public is welcome to 
 all programs.\nDr. Larry C. Skogen is BSC's sixth president. He has taught
  in collegiate and military settings and worked in many management capacit
 ies for the U.S. Air Force\, where he served 26 years and retired as lieut
 enant colonel. An instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy\, Skogen was ac
 ademic dean and deputy superintendent for academic affairs at New Mexico M
 ilitary Institute\, Roswell. He was an educational consultant to the Unite
 d Arab Emirates and inspector general of the Francis E. Warren Air Force B
 ase in Wyoming. Skogen has a doctorate in history from Arizona State Unive
 rsity\, Tempe\, MA in history from Central Missouri State University\, War
 rensburg\, and BS in secondary education from Dickinson State University.
 \nJenkinson\, a Rhodes and Danforth scholar\, is a published author and on
 e of the leading public humanities scholars in the United States. He hosts
  a nationally syndicated radio program from Bismarck\, The Thomas Jefferso
 n Hour\, and works as a speaker\, consultant and facilitator. Jenkinson di
 rects The Dakota Institute of the Fort Mandan Foundation and serves on its
  board. He is chief consultant to the Theodore Roosevelt Center through Di
 ckinson State University and a columnist for the Bismarck Tribune. Jenkins
 on has an MA from Oxford University\, Cambridge\, England\, BA in English 
 literature from Vanderbilt University\, and BA in English from University
