Dakota Stage presents, The Cemetery Club, January 28-31 and February 3-7. The show is a funny, sweet tempered and moving story following three widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband's graves.

Escape the cold weather & warm your heart! What do you get when you cross an episode of the 'Golden Girls', the friendships in Steele Magnolias, and live theatre? The delightful comedy The Cemetery Club. The Cemetery Club is a walk through love,
death and the bonds of best friends. From wacky eccentricities to surprisingly touching moments, this play presents four Jewish widows in Forest Hills, Queens, as wise, funny and still engaged in romance at 50+. Every month Ida, Lucille and Doris rendezvous at their husbands' graves. Doris is the most recently widowed, and is far from finished with her grieving. Ida, still missing her  husband of 40 years, might be ready to move on (though not if Doris has anything to do with it). Lucille is the wild one, flirting madly with every man in view, including potential muggers. She brags about cougar-esque conquests, but those stories, and her odd attraction to secondhand minks, might be camouflage for a lonely heart. Breaking this trio up is Sam, a widowed butcher who runs into the women when he comes to the graveyard to pay respects to his departed wife. Lucille latches on like a barnacle, but Sam is more taken by the demure Ida. When Sam makes a date with Ida to attend the wedding of the unseen and oft-married neighborhood gold-digger, Lucille and Doris do some harmful meddling. Latecomer Mildred, a bothersome third wheel, also turns up to attend the wedding on the arm of Sam.

Throughout this fast–paced and endearing play, the ladies argue, needle, tease, reminisce and set each other up for pleasantly amusing zingers.  The three friends will be played by Marlene Engel, Tami Helmers and Sue Pudwill, Sam will be portrayed
by Rick Frazier, and DSL newcomer Pricilla Anderson will take on the role of Mildred.  With this line up of talented actors, I know you
will thoroughly enjoy this show!  It is the perfect play to watch and take your mind off the cold North Dakota weather. So warm up at Dakota Stage while you let The Cemetery Club warm your heart!  I will see you at the theatre!
