Sponsored by the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors’ Mansion

Governor Arthur A. Link has been noted for his accomplished fiddle playing and Art and Grace Link have also provided outstanding leadership in preserving the former governors’ mansion as a heritage-treasure for all North Dakotans.

These two factors form the basis for this effort to provide opportunities for elementary and secondary school violin students.

Invitations to participate are made to elementary and secondary violin students, on a statewide basis. An application to participate is required. Confirmation of approved participation will be made to applicants.

Those selected to participate will perform old time fiddle music for a panel of adjudicators at the Former Governors’ Mansion, 320 E. Ave. B in Bismarck. Based on the performance and the written application first, second and third place winners will be selected in Junior and Senior Divisions.
