Exhibiting this month in the member’s gallery is Sister Nancy Gunderson, OSB, a Benedictine Sister of Annunciation Monastery in Bismarck. Sister Nancy teaches full time in the Division of Philosophy/Theology at the University of Mary and uses her quilts as teaching tools.

She is a self-taught fiber artist who has displayed in numerous exhibits and won several awards. She was a recipient of a Dakota Creative Connections Grant from the Bush Foundation in 2008, received a scholarship to the Split Rock Arts Program at the University of Minnesota that year and in 2009 received a scholarship to Art Quilt Tahoe, Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Her work, “Dancing through the Seasons and Cycles of Our Lives,” is on permanent display at the Benedictine Center.
