Gary Farmer, Actor, Smoke Signals, Skins, Powwow Highway, will be speaking to the Theodore Jamerson Elementary Schoool students, United Tribes Technical College students and doing a 2 hr concert from 8-10pm, all events will be held on the UTTC campus. Event is open to the public. Event is FREE.

      I am a Media Arts student at United Tribes and I have had the privilege of listening to Gary Farmer speak and having him elaborate more of his artistic philosophy in an interview. He had an honest, heartfelt message about his work, which is clearly evident from his long career in Native and mainstream cinema. He had a lot to say to motivate and inspire younger generations of people and how a lot still needs to be done. I personally felt inspired and determined to do more for my community and the arts. He doesn't relay just "Native" stories, but stories that relate to all of us as human beings. His blues band Gary Farmer and the Troublemakers weren't too bad either. :) Collapse
