    For 40 years, Bismarck State College Graphic Design and Communications students have been showcasing their work in the Bismarck community. The process of producing some of that work has changed significantly – moving largely from hand-rendered artwork and film-based photography to computer-drawn illustrations and digital photos – but the passion and creativity of the program's students has continued to awe. The 40th Annual Bismarck State College Graphic Design and Communications Spring Show will be held April 19-22 at Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck. "We have incredibly talented faculty working with incredibly eager students," said Dr. Larry Skogen, President of BSC. "The result is magical, and all will be glad they saw the show." Students will be available at the show to answer questions about their work and the techniques they used to produce it. Judges will evaluate students' work and award prizes to those whose work they believe exemplifies the best of the best. BSC's Graphic Design and Communications program teaches skills in layout and typography, print media, prepress operations, print production, Web design and electronic imaging. Coursework covers photography, illustration and design for print and online publications as well as the design and layout of advertisements, direct mail, brochures, posters and publications.
