VSA North Dakota announces upcoming Inclusive Drumming Workshop Bismarck, ND, April 21 2010 – Do you know a pre-K through grade 12 student who loves to make noise? Who doesn’t! Drumming is a great art form for students to be creative and express themselves. Participants will get loud and make some noise while learning various beats and rhythms of drumming using bucket drumming. Buckets are an alternative to formal percussion instruments and will allow the students to take the skill home and practice on just about anything. Instructors Kris Kitko and Karen Van Fossan will introduce many drumming techniques and the students will create a handmade rainstick to take home. The workshop will take place at Wachter Middle School in Bismarck from 10am-3pm on May 15. The workshop will conclude with an exciting group performance at 2:30pm that you won’t want to miss, all are welcome to come watch the fun. $15 covers the cost of materials, lunch, and a snack. Application deadline is May 7.
