"Forward Thinking: Unbound Potential" It's a myth to believe there's a secure job out there, a secure industry, or even a secure material investment. For some this is a fearful development while for others security has always been a myth, and the benefit of accepting this idea means that the future is wide open, full of unbound possibilities. Now is the time for reinvention, both personal and global. How do we maintain balance and pursue our most cherished dreams while standing on shifting tectonic plates? Susan Power will discuss the attitude shifts and strategies that can help us continually think beyond the margins of what is possible, and in doing so, make manifest an exciting new world. After being named Miss Indian Chicago at the age of 17, Susan Power went on to get an A.B. degree in Psychology at Harvard, and later her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Her first novel, the international bestseller, The Grass Dancer, earned many awards including the PEN/Hemingway Prize. In 2002, Power’s second book, Roofwalker, won the Milkweek National Fiction Prize. Power has distinguished herself as one of the most sought after public intellectuals in the world, and has given keynote addresses in several countries.
