The music faculty of Bismarck State College will present their annual recital on September 19, 2010, in Sidney J. Lee Auditorium starting at 7:30 pm. The faculty welcomes two new instructors this year, choral director Andrew Miller and string instructor Everaldo Martinez. The recital features a potpourri of instrumental and vocal music by the BSC faculty. This year’s program features two arias by Handel, a pleasant vocal duet by Morten Laudidsen, three “Songs Without Words” by Felix Mendelssohn, the ever popular “Humoresque” by Rachmaninoff, a trumpet piece with narration by Vincent Persichetti, the final movement from Felix Draeseke’s Clarinet Sonate, Op.38, “Solfegio” by C.P.E. Bach, the soulful “Harlem Nocturne” by Earle Hagen, and three excerpts from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Jazz Flute and Piano. A reception with light refreshments will follow the recital. The recital is free and all are welcome to attend.
