A King in a far off kingdom has a problem. He has twelve beautiful daughters who sleep in twelve beds locked in their bedroom. The King gets them new shoes everyday, but by morning the shoes are worn full of holes as if they had been dancing all night. The King declares that whoever can solve the mystery of the princess shoes will marry one of the princesses and will become the next king. Many princes try to solve the mystery and many fail. One lone soldier thinks he might be up to the test. The Apprentices and Trainees of Northern Plains Dance bring this exuberant fairy tale to life with the Story Time Ballet performance series. These performances include audience participation and live story narration.
