Bismarck State College Theatre presents "Blood Brothers"

April 6-10. Shows are 7:30 p.m., Wed. – Sat; and 2:30 p.m. Sun. in the Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.

The musical, “Blood Brothers,” by Willy Russell, has a contemporary nature vs. nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins who were separated at birth. The twins' different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming an Oxbridge graduate and the other unemployed and in prison. They both fall in love with the same girl, causing a tear in their friendship and leading to tragedy. It is one of the longest-running musicals in London theatre, with the 1988 West End production still running.

In the USA, it has held a record breaking Broadway run, a hugely successful coast-to-coast tour and was nominated for six Tony Awards.

Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as “Blood Brothers.” Scooping up no less than four awards for Best Musical and receiving a standing ovation at almost every performance.

"A masterpiece - if you haven't seen it, go. If you have, go again." – News of the World

"The audience rose to its feet with near-religious rapture."

    – Sunday Telegraph

“…the best British musical since Oliver!” – Ipswich Evening News
