The University of Mary Collegiate DECA chapter invites you to its 2nd Annual DECAdent Desserts on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from

7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the I.D.E.A. Center, 2720 E. Broadway Avenue #2, in Bismarck. For only $5 a ticket, you will be able to sample DECAdent desserts from local entrepreneurs. Tickets are NOT available at the door; so reserve yours today by calling Karel Sovak at (701) 355-8042 or e-mailing umarymob@yahoo.com.

Nibbles & Brunch, Peacock Alley, Grandma’s Kuchen, Minerva’s, and Country House Deli will be featuring their mouth-watering desserts. Cleanse your palate with drinks from Steep Me Tea, Red Roaster Coffee and Dan’s Supermarket.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, Tom “Too Tall” Szymanski, Anne Jones of MDU, and Bryan Klipfel of WSI will judge the DECAdent Desserts competition. Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to judge the desserts sampled for the People’s Choice Award.

“I'm so excited about having URL radio be part of the event this year bringing a whole new aspect to DECAdent Desserts. This will enhance community awareness of our chapter,” said sophomore Caroline Crary, event coordinator and associate director of Collegiate DECA chapter.

Karel Sovak, advisor for the U-Mary chapter added that the fundraiser is an excellent way for all the students to make use of their classroom knowledge.

“Students are taking part in every aspect of this fundraiser,” Sovak said. “From lining up the participants, the sponsors and the venue, to creating posters and doing the promotional materials, to ticket sales. They all understand the importance of their hard work and the results they want to achieve.”

“Our chapter is appreciative of all the community support we have been receiving,” commented senior Stephanie Nalewaja, event coordinator and executive director of Collegiate DECA chapter. “This event is made possible by our community partners such as Kupper Chevrolet, City Air Mechanical, I.D.E.A. Center, AmeriPride Services, and other generous partners. “

Watch out this year; the competition is going to be tough as ever, and the judges are bringing empty stomachs. So should you!
